The main competition is for teams of 5 pairs of golfers playing scratch foursomes. The draw for the main competition is held following the Public Schools Golfing Society’s AGM held in January every year. In addition to the main foursomes knockout there are two other competitions The Peter Kenyon Bowl: a handicap foursomes stableford competition open all members of an appropriate Old Boys Golf Society and played at Princes Golf Club . The Plate: this is a scratch foursomes knockout for first round losers in the main competition. This is held at Princes Golf Club. Finally, Rye Golf Club offers concessionary green fees during the week

THE HALFORD HEWITT
The Halford Hewitt is one of Britain’s most competitive golf tournaments, contested between teams of 10 former pupils from the schools which make up the membership of the Public Schools Golfing Society, and it is also one of the game’s most convivial social gatherings, something which is entirely appropriate considering it was conceived during a luncheon meeting at one of England’s finest golf clubs.
