Peter Kenyon Bowl
Holders: Haileybury (Mssrs Lawrence Baker and James Gedye)
The Society is most grateful to the Captain, Committee and Members of Littlestone Golf Club for allowing the Society to stage the competition at their Club again this year. In recent years support for this event has been disappointing and we would like to point out that it offers an opportunity for supporters to play some golf during the week as well as any competitors who feel they know the Hewitt courses well enough and wish to play at a more enjoyable pace than is often the case on the practice days.
Entry for the competition may be made on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9 th – 11th April and will be a foursomes Stableford Competition over 18 holes. The tee will be available as follows:
- Tuesday from 12.30pm until 4.00pm
Wednesday from 09.34am until 1.00pm
Thursday from 10.30am until 12.30pm
The competition will be played against handicap from the white medal tees (the maximum individual handicap is 18), each pair receiving half combined handicap, a half or over counting as one. Strokes to be taken at the allotted holes against the men’s card.
A pair, or any number of pairs may enter from a School Society, but play is restricted to foursomes only 3 or 4 ball pairings are not permitted.
The entry will be made as representing a School Society i.e. Oxbridge (AB Black – CD White).
Any difference in the weather conditions will be taken as rub of the green. Reserves / supporters may also play but no-one may play more than one round. The overall winners will receive the Peter Kenyon Bowl and mementos will also be presented by Littlestone Golf Club to the individual players in the winning pair and runners-up. Please ensure that the School and both names are clearly shown on the scorecards or the entry is invalid.
The entrance fee, which must be paid before teeing off, will be £25.00 per player entering the competition. COMPETITORS SHOULD TELEPHONE THE DIRECTOR of GOLF at LITTLESTONE on 01797 363355 or or email email@example.com (Subject: Peter Kenyon) to enter and to reserve starting times. This will avoid delay or disappointment. To enable the Club to cater for your requirements, please order food in advance from the bar menu (available on the club website). Schools are reminded that there are no free practice days at Littlestone. As a special concession green fees will be £25.00 per round from 9th April – 11th April whether singles or foursomes. At any other time the fee will be £90.00 per round.
